Geriatric Homes in a Resort atmosphere for the tender care of the aged, having independent housing with all modern facilities - food, security, laundry, Library, recreation facilities, medical attention etc.
The project is promoted by a group of Doctors with experience in geriatric care and by Chaitanya Nursing Home, a polypathy centre having Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Naturopathy departments and having about 20 years experience in patient care.
This project is run by senior citizen's club of North Paravur,a society of about 150 aged peoples.Most of them are Professionals and Govt: employees.and also includes retired Professors,Teachers,Bank Officers,Advocates and Doctors.The society is registered under "Travancore - Cochin Charitable Society Act".
Our Mission :
Care of the aged is a social problem in all developing nations. In Kerala it has special preference due to the long Life expectancy is more than 70 yrs and the Growth rate is 3.5 % per year. At present more than 10% of the population is aged over 65yrs.From Joint family concept we have moved to Nuclear family. There are drastic changes in the Social, Cultural and Technological fields. Children are migrating to other States & countries in search of jobs.The percentage of working women has increased much. Also the security of the aged staying alone at home is a big concern.There is also deterioration of values of life. In this contest we, a group of retired people plan to have a Heaven for the aged for the successful ageing and not the usual ageing.
